Research and Extension in the general mission of the Experimental Station in Hermiston. Extension faculty work with business people, growers, foresters, youth, and community leaders. They see first-hand what’s working, and what’s not working, in Oregon communities and they are the liaison between Universities Researchers and Stakeholders. Most of the faculty located at the Experimental Station in Hermiston have an extensive mixed of Extension-Research components. My program (Rondon) focuses on applied entomology, which relates to the study of the biology, ecology, insect-plant interactions, and management of insects. Every year, students, interns, graduate students, and early career professionals join my lab to learn about how to develop programs that can help growers productivity.
