GO Real Life Math
This professional development program provides an opportunity for 20 teachers in the region to collaborate and develop math lessons using real-world applications. Math teachers for grades 7-10 from the following schools are participating: Imbler, North Powder, La Grande, Elgin, Union, Westen-McEwan, Mac-Hi, Wallowa, Riverside, Umatilla and Pilot Rock.
In April, we will begin inviting teachers and school administrators to participate in a professional development program that will support the implementation of STEM units in classrooms for students in grades 4-6 during the 2016-2017 school year. Participating teachers will be provided with STEM units developed by eastern Oregon teachers through EO STEM and receive support to develop their own STEM units with other teachers at their school.
Oregon STEM Week 2016
May 8-13 has been designated as STEM week in Oregon this year! This is a week to promote STEM awareness through events and celebrations of STEM! Contact GO-STEM if your STEM club in interested in holding an event. We would be happy to support you!
We will begin a pilot program to support teachers and STEM industry experts to participate on the Oregon Connections website which matches classrooms with people in the community who can share their work with students and provide meaningful connections between education and STEM careers.
